This integration enables Unifyed Digital Campus clients to seamlessly access InCommon® Federation from Unifyed Digital Campus.
InCommon®, operated by Internet2®, provides the U.S. higher education and research community with the common framework for trustworthy shared management of access to online resources. InCommon® facilitates the development of a community-based common trust fabric sufficient to enable participants to make appropriate decisions about the release of identity information and the control of access to protected online resources. InCommon® is intended to enable production-level end-user access to a wide variety of protected resources.
Unifyed single sign-on integration to InCommon® Federation provides the following value to Unifyed Digital Campus clients:
- Access to InCommon® Resources – Unifyed Digital Campus clients now have access to a variety of protected resources including:
- Microsoft® Imagine®
- Box® & Dropbox®
- National Student Clearinghouse®
- EBSCO®
and many more
- Infrastructure – Unifyed Digital Clients no longer need to reinvent the wheel and install and maintain require separate instances of Shibboleth® because Unifyed Identity includes an identity provider (IDP) that supports protocols such as OAUTH, WS-Federation and SAML and includes out-of-the-box attribute mapping with InCommon Federation.
