About This Release
Release Summary
This release builds on the v26.04 baseline with a comprehensive Retention suite, platform configurability enhancements, and a restructured Analytics experience. The Retention module now covers the full student-success workflow from appointment booking through case creation, risk assessment, intervention planning, and master data management. Platform updates give administrators finer control over branding, navigation permissions, user profile presentation, and third-party integrations.
Retention
v26.05 delivers the core of the StudentX Retention suite, covering appointment scheduling, case management, intervention planning, and the master data that drives them. Advisors, faculty, and administrators can now manage the full student-success workflow within a single, permission-aware experience.
Appointment Scheduling
Appointment Scheduling gives institutions a fully configurable booking experience for advisors and students, backed by calendar write-back and institution-wide scheduling rules.
Admin setup
- Configure the Service Catalog, Appointment Types, Department/Advisor Type mappings, Meeting Modes, and Assignment options as master data for the scheduling system.
- Define institution-wide scheduling rules including student/advisor booking toggles, normal and location buffers, and an appointment approval flag.
- Enable external calendar write-back to Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook so confirmed appointments appear in advisors’ external calendars automatically.
Case Management
Case Management provides advisors and permitted faculty with a structured, 360-degree view of student risk cases, from initial flagging through resolution.
Case listing
- Advisor-scoped Case Listing with status tabs (All, New, Open, In Progress, Hold), table sorting, bulk actions, left-rail quick filters, and advanced filtering options.
- Automatically generate centralized retention Risk Cases when the retention AI model flags a student as At Risk (High, Medium, or Low), requiring no manual intervention.
- Allow permitted users and faculty to manually create student retention cases by selecting a student, setting overall severity, choosing risk/concern flags with notes, and reviewing model assessments.
- Consolidate multiple manual risk flags submitted by different faculty members for the same student into a single risk assessment card or case, with “By Reporter” and “Consolidated” views.
360-degree Case View
- Display a student header with key metadata, SLA due date breach indicators, Risk Overview cards and factors, an Intervention Plan tab in a single view.
Intervention Plan Creation
Intervention Plans link detected risk signals to structured, category-scoped actions owned by the appropriate advisors or staff.
Automated plan generation
- Auto-generate category-specific intervention plans (Academic, Financial, Behavioral, Engagement) upon detection of risk signals, mapping owners and triggering tasks and notifications.
- Apply business logic to auto-generate tasks and nudges from risk signals, deduplicating them using Intervention IDs, task merge rules, cool-off windows, and nudge consolidation.
Retention Masters
Retention Masters provide administrators with the configuration layer that underpins the entire Retention suite.
Key configuration areas
- Intervention Actions master: define and manage tasks, emails, SMS, in-app, and push actions with assignees, reporters, categories, cool-off periods, templates, and SLA rules.
- Signal-to-Intervention Rules: configure rule anchoring that maps primary risk signals to specific catalog interventions, qualified by severity conditions, audience targeting (User, Role, or Group), and derived categories.
- Message and Action Templates: centralized repository for managing templates across channels (Email, SMS, Task, In-App, Push) with dynamic and looping placeholders.
Platform
v26.05 extends platform configurability with a Branding Studio, a revamped Profile Configurator, Navigation RBAC updates covering SIS and Retention modules, Google Tag Manager support, and a fix for the Navigation Management search workflow.
Branding Studio
The Branding Studio gives administrators a code-free interface for customizing the portal’s visual identity and widget appearance.
Key capabilities
- Customize base typography including font family, base font size, and heading style and color override without writing custom CSS.
- Apply widget themes across portal pages from a centralized admin UI.
- Preview branding changes before publishing to ensure visual consistency across the institution’s portal experience.
Navigation RBAC
Navigation and permission structures have been revamped under Role-Based Access Control to accommodate the new SIS integrations, Retention modules, and the Control Plane.
Key changes
- Navigation items and permission nodes updated to reflect the SIS integration layer, Retention module hierarchy, and Control Plane administrative access.
- Role and permission assignments now correctly scope access to Retention features (Cases, Appointments, Intervention Plans, Masters) based on advisor, faculty, and admin roles.
- Control Plane configuration actions are gated behind dedicated permission nodes, separating operational administration from tenant-level platform configuration.
Profile Configurator
The Profile Configurator gives administrators a flexible, live-preview interface for defining how user profile information is displayed and structured.
Key capabilities
- Configure profile element labels, section and tab visibility, and custom field definitions.
- Map external API data sources to profile fields and configure external link buttons within the profile layout.
- Set responsive layout options and validate the configuration through a live preview before publishing.
Google Integration – Tag Manager & Analytics
App Management’s Google Integration now covers both Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics in a unified configuration panel.
Key capabilities
- Enable or disable Google Tag Manager with a toggle and configure the GTM ID field from App Management.
- Enter the Google Analytics GA Measurement ID in the same panel, keeping all Google tracking configuration centralized.
Navigation Management – Edit on Search
A bug fix resolves an issue where executing a search in Navigation Management removed the Edit and Delete actions from applet and page records.
Key behavior
- Edit and Delete options are now consistently available in the row actions for applet and page records after a search is performed.
- No configuration change is required; the fix is applied automatically on upgrade.
Analytics
The portal Analytics experience has been restructured into dedicated, purpose-built tabs and extended with new KPI widgets to give administrators and stakeholders a clearer picture of platform adoption and engagement.
Restructured Analytics Tabs
Portal Analytics is reorganized into dedicated tabs, each surfacing a focused set of metrics and deployable KPI widgets. Two tabs are introduced in this release.
Tabs introduced
- Overview – high-level summary of platform health and key metrics across all areas.
- Engagement and Usage – detailed user activity data including web vs. mobile splits, session metrics, and adoption trends.
Engagement and Usage KPIs
The Platform Usage tab introduces a set of KPI widgets that track real-time and historical user activity across the portal.
Key metrics
- Users Online with web vs. mobile split, showing concurrent active user distribution in real time.
- Top and bottom user engagement distributions to identify highly active cohorts and users at risk of disengagement.
- Complete inactivity counts to surface users who have not accessed the platform within a configurable period.
- Mobile app adoption metrics showing the proportion of users accessing StudentX via native iOS or Android apps.
- Journey funnels tracking key student workflows from login through completion of targeted actions.
