About This Release

Release Summary

This release builds on the v26.03 baseline across three areas – My Calendar, Platform, and Engagement Enhancement. The headline additions are institution-level calendar configuration, a personalized multi-source calendar for end users, a configurable Calendar widget for CMS pages, deep-link preservation through authentication, and community-based Activity widget content.

My Calendar

My Calendar brings institution and user-specific schedules into a single experience. Administrators control how the app appears and which supported sources are available; end users can then view, filter, and act on the calendar items they are authorized to access. A companion widget makes upcoming items available directly on configured portal pages.

Admin Configuration

Authorized administrators can configure the My Calendar app’s identity, visual presentation, default view, and source availability so the experience matches institutional needs and configured integrations.

Key capabilities

  • Configure the internal App Name and the Display Name shown to end users.
  • Choose the calendar theme and default view, with Monthly selected by default.
  • Enable supported calendar sources such as course schedules, registered events, external calendars, task due dates, and other institution-enabled sources.
  • Enable Google Calendar and Microsoft 365 calendar providers only when the corresponding tenant integration is configured.
  • Save the configuration and review source integration or synchronization status without allowing a single source issue to block the full configuration.

End User Calendar Experience

Users with APP > My Calendar > View permission receive a personalized calendar that follows portal branding, the administrator’s source configuration, and the user’s own role, enrollment, registration, assignment, membership, and integration access.

Key capabilities

  • View authorized classes, registered events, tasks, external calendar events, and other enabled calendar items in one place.
  • Switch among Today, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly views; the administrator-configured view loads first.
  • Search and filter calendar items, open event details, view source and status information, and use a Join action when a valid meeting link is available.
  • Connect Google Calendar through Google’s authentication and consent flow, reuse an existing valid Google connection, and view the connected account status.
  • Sign out of Google Calendar from My Calendar without signing out of StudentX; Google events are removed while other calendar sources remain available.
  • Continue using available sources when one source fails, with responsive layouts, meaningful empty states, duplicate handling, and user-local time display.

My Calendar Widget

Page Designers can place the My Calendar widget on landing pages, dashboards, and other CMS-managed pages to surface a compact list of upcoming calendar items without requiring users to open the full app.

Key capabilities

  • Configure the widget’s internal name, end-user display title, and one or more calendar sources.
  • Select only sources that are enabled in the main My Calendar app configuration.
  • Show event or task title, date and time, source badge, details, and a Join action when an eligible meeting link is available.
  • Provide a View All link to the full My Calendar app when the app and action are available.
  • Respect user access, responsive page layouts, empty states, and source-specific error handling for each configured widget.

Platform

Authentication routing now preserves the destination a user originally intended to open while still honoring configured pre-login, post-login, and post-logout pages.

Deep-Link Preservation Across Authentication

When an unauthenticated user opens a protected deep link, StudentX remembers the requested URL while directing the user through the configured login experience. After successful authentication, the user returns to that destination instead of being redirected to the default post-login landing page.

Key behavior

  • A pending protected deep link is stored and takes precedence over the configured post-login landing page after authentication.
  • A normal login with no pending deep link continues to open the configured post-login landing page.
  • Public deep links and deep links opened by an already authenticated user render directly without being intercepted.
  • If a session expires while the user is on a deep-linked page, StudentX preserves the current URL and returns the user there after re-authentication.
  • Logout clears every pending return URL and always opens the configured post-logout page so an old deep link cannot carry into a later session.
  • If the preserved destination is invalid or the user is not authorized to open it, StudentX clears the stored URL and falls back to the post-login landing page.

Enhancement

The main portal Activity widget can now bring selected community content into page experiences while preserving existing interest-based behavior.

Community Post Selection in Activity Widget

In CMS > Manage Pages > Page > Design > Activity Widget Configuration, administrators can use a new Communities option to select the active communities whose posts should appear in the configured Activity widget.

Key changes

  • Search and select one or more active communities through a searchable multi-select control.
  • Display posts that match selected Interests or selected Communities when both configuration types are used.
  • Respect each community’s visibility, membership, audience, moderation, and access rules for every end user.
  • Exclude deactivated or deleted communities and remove their posts when a community is removed from the widget configuration.
  • Keep existing Interest-only Activity widget configurations working without requiring any changes.
