Unifyed Announces General Availability of Engage v12.14

Unifyed Engage 12.14


The following applets have been updated with new enhancements and/or resolved defects:

  • Unifyed Groups
  • Community Drive
  • My Blackboard
  • Staff Directory
  • Messaging

To update an applet:

  • Click on ‘Studio’ from the Profile dropdown on the right.
  • Click on ‘App Manager’ from the new navigation bar that appears on the left.
  • Click on ‘Unifyed Appstore’.
  • Click on ‘Save’ for all the applets that you wish to update.
  • Close the window and click on ‘Publish’ present in the top right corner.

At Unifyed, we define a “New Feature” as a fundamentally new capability added within Engage to provide additional value or solve a new problem.

Content Versioning

In response to your feedback, we’re excited to unveil our latest feature, Content Versioning, designed to empower administrators with comprehensive control over content management. This feature provides admins with the ability to track, review, and manage different versions of content effectively, including the ability to easily restore content to a previous version if desired. Portal admins can now access a detailed history of modifications, including who made changes and when those changes were made. This level of transparency and accountability ensures that admins can make informed decisions about content management, ultimately leading to a more streamlined and efficient workflow.

The implementation of Content Versioning spans across multiple screens, each designed to enhance the user experience and provide seamless access to version history. On the Content Listing screen, admins can easily track the version number of each piece of content, as well as identify the user who last modified it. Clicking on a specific version opens up the Version Listing screen, where admins can view all previous versions in chronological order. From there, admins can dive into a particular version to review its content, with options to restore the previous version as it was, or make further modifications before restoration. This streamlined process ensures that admins can quickly and efficiently manage content revisions, reducing the risk of data loss and maintaining content integrity.

Content Versioning has been added for the most content-heavy widgets, including Articles, Smart Articles, RSS feeds, Custom Headings and Separators. In addition to being able to review version information from the centralized Content Listing screen, admins also have the ability to access content versions of a specific content widget while editing a page, providing even greater flexibility and control over the content management processes.

Recycle Bin
In our latest release, we’re excited to introduce a new Recycle Bin feature, accessible within Studio for any administrative users with Studio access. Now, when users delete Pages, Articles, Smart Articles, Images, and files from MyDrive and CommunityDrive, those items are temporarily retained within the newly introduced Recycle Bin area (previously the data was permanently deleted immediately). Administrative users with access to the Recycle Bin area can filter, search, sort, and page through deleted data, making decisions on whether to permanently delete or restore deleted items.

In addition, the Recycle Bin feature includes an audit trail for comprehensive visibility into all Recycle Bin operations, providing users with valuable insights into their data management processes. Users can also access the Recycle Bin directly from within specific groups, facilitating collaborative content management and enhancing team productivity. With robust access control mechanisms in place, administrators can effectively manage permissions, ensuring data security and compliance. Explore the power of the Recycle Bin feature today and elevate your content management experience.

Getting Started-

  • Begin by accessing Studio’s access control to configure access permissions for any users that you want to utilize the Recycle Bin feature
  • Once users have access, they can navigate to Studio > Content > Recycle Bin to access the Recycle Bin feature

Data will be retained within the Recycle Bin for 30 days post-deletion and will be automatically permanently deleted after that 30 day wait period has elapsed

Blackboard Applet UI

Responding to user needs, we’ve revamped our Blackboard applet with a modernized user interface, inspired by essential feedback. Embrace a seamless experience within our platform. Enhancements across key pages like assignments, grades, announcements, and class roster ensure a cohesive learning journey. Experience the upgraded Blackboard UI for a more intuitive and engaging academic experience.

Getting Started –

  • In order to prevent disruption to current student experienced, we’ve chosen to make these changes by introducing a new applet in the Unifyed App Stoe. After the 12.14 release, two Blackboard applets are available that do the same thing, but provide a different user experience.
    • The pre-existing applet is named “Unifyed Blackboard”
    • The new applet (referenced in this release note) is named “My Blackboard”
  • Add, configure, and position the new “My Blackboard” applet on your portal to start taking advantage of these new usability improvements


  • In an upcoming release, the old applet may be removed from the Unifyed App Store. If you are using the existing “Unifyed Blackboard” applet today, we ask that you please transition to the new version promptly and please let us know if you have any questions or concerns regarding the new experience.
  • For any assistance, please reach out to support.

Resolved Defects-

  • Rectified Search behavior on Studio > Users/ Groups in Engage, ensuring appropriate functionality.
  • Addressed the issue with Staff Directory applet, now accurately searching users by Department name.
