Unifyed Announces General Availability of Engage v12.10

Summary

Below Applets have been updated with new features, enhancements and bug fixes:

• Unifyed Groups
• Profile App
• My Drive
• Unifyed Connect App
• Messaging App

To update an applet:

• Click on ‘Studio’ from the Profile dropdown on the right.
• Click on ‘App Manager’ from the new navigation bar that appears on the left.
• Click on ‘Unifyed Appstore’.
• Click on ‘Save’ for all the applets that you wish to update.
• Close the window and click on ‘Publish’ present in the top right corner.

Enhancements

Unifyed Groups – Back Button returns User to Group List

We have improved the Unifyed Groups applet to allow a user to easily return to the list of groups. Previously there was no simple way to return to the Group list without clicking the back arrow on the browser. The back button link is available in the top left of the view, and is only available on the landing page of the group. Subsequent pages will not have the link auto appended.

Profile – Minimum image size for User’s Profile Image

We reduced the minimum image size for a user’s profile image from 50 kb to 5 kb. This was requested so that user’s can also add avatar images that may not be up to the 50 kb prior minimum. After testing 5 kb was the lowest file size that could be used without distortion or pixilation when used.

Profile – UX Improvements for End User’s Connect Categories

In this release we added some user cues to improve the experience while navigating their profile. We added a lock icon to the list of Connect Categories when the user has been auto assigned and locked into a category. Previously, the user would just see the category selected and not able to deselect it. This could be mis-understood as an error so we added this to reduce confusion. We also added a tool tip message to the Edit button on the page to alert the user that this is how they can edit their Connect Categories.

Messaging – To Do List – Allow User to Edit Generated To-Do Items

We have added the ability to control if a user can edit their self generated To-Do items through the existing Role Based Access Control (RBAC). Previously, giving the User Group the Create permission would allow them to create their own To-Do items. However, once created these items could not be edited for content or due date. By giving a user Group Edit permission in RBAC they will now be able to edit their To-Do items.

My Drive – Private Document URL to Prompt Login not Error Page

If the My Drive was leveraged in a Private Unifyed Group when a link to a document was shared if the user wasn’t logged in yet, they would receive an access denied error page. As this is not a desired user experience we now redirect the user to the login page. Once successfully authenticated it will display the document.

Defect Fixes

Unifyed Groups – Filenames Download as Alphanumeric Hash rather than File Name

We have resolved an issue where the files from the Community Drive would download with a random hash value as the file name instead of the name of the file uploaded.

Unifyed Connect – Sticky Posts Removed before Expiration Date

We investigated an issue reported where Sticky Posts from Connect are being removed from the connect feed prior to the expiration date. This was tested and found to be functional.
