New Features

At Unifyed, we define a “New Feature” as a fundamentally new capability added within Engage to provide additional value or solve a new problem.

Export Group Users Data

The new” Export Group Users Data”  feature in Engage allows admins to export detailed user data for all groups directly from Studio. This export provides a comprehensive view of each user-group relationship, simplifying data management for teams working across various group types (Active Directory, Portal, and Community).

Key Benefits –

  • Efficient User Data Management: Quickly export and manage user-group data in bulk, with each row in the export representing a unique user-group relationship.
  • Improved Insights: Understand group composition, origin, and membership details through clear, sortable data in a user-friendly CSV format.
  • Enhanced Flexibility: Select and download user data for one or multiple groups at once, with options to filter by source and creator.

Feature Summary –
Upon selecting the “Group Users” export option under Studio, admins are presented with a Group Users Screen that enables:

  • Flexible Group Selection: Choose one or multiple groups for export, filtering by attributes like source (AD, Portal, Community) or groups created by the current user.
  • Detailed CSV Output: The generated CSV includes user names, emails, group details, and membership sources, excluding group admins for community groups to streamline relevant user data.
  • Customizable Display and Navigation: Adjust items per page, apply search and filter functions, and use pagination controls to manage large data sets efficiently. Sorting defaults to the most recently created groups for quick access.

Getting Started –

  1. Navigate to the Export Screen: In Engage, go to Studio → Export and select the “Group Users” option.
  2. Select Groups for Export: On the Group Users screen, use checkboxes to select individual or multiple groups. Apply filters, search by group name or creator, and adjust items per page for easy navigation.
  3. Download Data: Click the download icon either next to individual groups or at the top of the screen for a multi-group export. The resulting CSV file, groupusers-data.csv, will contain organized user data for all selected groups.

Export Community Members Data

The “Export Community Users Data” feature in Engage allows admins to export detailed user data for communities, providing insights into each user-community relationship. This feature enables flexible management of community-level data by creating an organized CSV export file that details users’ roles and affiliations across multiple communities.

Key Benefits–

  • Centralized Data Management: Easily export and organize community user data with structured insights into user roles, community type, and membership affiliation.
  • Enhanced Efficiency: Quickly access and download user data for one or multiple communities in a single action, tailored by search, filter, and pagination options.
  • Clear Membership Overview: Understand user distribution within communities, filtering by public, private, or restricted types, while retaining control over user-level permissions.

Feature Summary –
Admins can select the “Community Members” export option from Studio and use a Community Users Screen to manage and download community-level user data. Key features include:

  • Community Selection: Choose individual or multiple communities for export, using checkboxes for flexibility. Filter by community type (public, private, restricted) or search by community name and creator.
  • Comprehensive CSV Output: The downloaded CSV, communityusers-data.csv, includes user details such as name, email, community, role, role type (individual or group), and associated group name. It excludes users with pending membership for restricted groups.
  • User-Friendly Interface: Navigate with pagination, adjustable items per page, and sorting options to organize and access data quickly. Sorting defaults to display the most recently created communities at the top, and users can refine by creator or community type.

Getting Started –

  1. Navigate to Export Screen: In Engage, go to Studio → Export and select “Community Members”.
  2. Select Communities for Export: On the Community Users screen, use checkboxes to select communities, apply filters by type, and adjust items per page as needed.
  3. Download Data: Click the download icon next to individual communities or use the top-right button for multi-community downloads. The resulting CSV file, communityusers-data.csv, provides a detailed overview of user roles and community affiliations.

Enhancements

At Unifyed, we classify an Enhancement as an update to an existing feature or capability to make it more advanced or to provide additional value or offer a richer user experience.

Ability to Update Page URL

The “Editable Path URL” feature empowers customers with the ability to update page URLs, increasing page reusability and improving flexibility in content management. This feature allows users to easily adjust page paths within the navigation menu and manage any link redirection concerns for a seamless user experience.

Key Benefits–

  • Enhanced Page Reusability: Edit URL paths without recreating pages, allowing efficient management of page links.
  • Redirection Support: Built-in alert and redirection guidance maintain a smooth user experience, even with URL updates.

Feature Summary –
This feature introduces two new controls within the Navigation configuration for each page, enhancing the management experience with:

  • Intuitive URL Editing: An editable “Page Path” field available in Manage Page enables easy modification of URLs. The interface includes an edit icon, with “tick” and “cancel” icons to confirm or discard changes.
  • Validation & Warnings: Upon saving, the system checks if the path is already in use, prompting the user if a conflict exists. If the path is available, a warning about potential link disruptions appears, along with guidance on using the Friendly URL Mapper for smooth transitions.

Getting Started –

  1. Access the Manage Page Screen: Go to Studio → Manage Page → Select a Page → Settings → Manage Page or Studio → Settings -> Navigation / Menu Builder → Select a Page → Manage Page icon
  2. Edit the Page Path: Click on the edit icon next to Page Path. Modify the URL as needed and confirm with the tick icon, while noting validation prompts for existing URL paths.
  3. Handle Redirection Needs: If updating the path, you can use the Friendly URL Mapper to ensure users with the old URL are redirected appropriately.

Enhance Group Management

The “Enhanced Group Management” feature introduces multiple interface and functionality improvements to streamline group management within Engage. With added data clarity and refined filtering, sorting, and navigation options, administrators gain a more efficient and user-friendly experience when managing group data.

Key Benefits–

  • Improved User Insight: A new “User Count” column and detailed information about group creators offer administrators clear, immediate access to user and group details.
  • Simplified Group Management: Enhanced filter and sorting options make it easier to locate and manage specific groups.
  • Efficient Navigation: The addition of bulk selection, item control, and column sorting provides a smoother user experience for handling large data sets.

Feature Summary –
This enhancement includes several new elements and adjustments within the group management screen, providing administrators with the following tools:

  • New “User Count” Column: Displays the total number of users per group and serves as a hyperlink for direct access to the user list. The “Setting → View” option has been removed, as this count replaces it.
  • Detailed Columns:
    1. “Created By”: Indicates whether the group was created by a system user (for AD Groups) or a specific user (for Community and Portal Groups) along with its created Date
    2. Source: The “Source” column differentiates group types as “Community Group” or “Portal Group” for better clarity.
  • Filtering and Sorting Options:
    1. Filter by Type and Created By Me: Users can filter groups based on type (AD, Community, Portal) or toggle to view only those created by the user.
    2. Sorting Options: Sort by “Created By,” “Created Date,” “Name,” and “Source” in both ascending and descending order.
  • Bulk Selection and Item Control: Select multiple groups using checkboxes to download data for multiple user groups, and control the number of items per page.

Getting Started –

  1. Access the Group Management Screen: Within Engage, navigate to the group list screen to view the new layout and columns.
  2. Use “User Count” for Quick User Access: Click the user count hyperlink to instantly view the list of users within a group.
  3. Filter, Sort, and Manage Groups: Apply filters by group type or created by the user, and sort columns to quickly organize group information as needed.
  4. Perform Bulk Actions: Select multiple groups via checkboxes for efficient management and actions across selected groups.

  • Improved User Engagement: Attention-grabbing styles like bold colors and shadow borders improve content readability and visual appeal.

    • Ideal for callouts or highlighted text needing a strong background color.
  2. Outlined Text:
    • Text is centered, outlined in red, with a black solid border, giving a high-contrast look.
    • Useful for attention-grabbing elements like warnings or key points.
  3. Shadowed Box:
    • A solid 2px border with a shadow effect, set on a light gray background.
    • Great for emphasis or boxed sections within content, adding a three-dimensional effect.
  4. Red Button:
    • Features a gradient red button with rounded edges, white bold text, and a hover.

  • Updated navigation functionality to allow seamless transitions between Portal and Community in the same window.
  • Corrected date display in the MultiEvent URL applet, ensuring entire day events show on the accurate date.
