Enhancements

At Unifyed, we classify an Enhancement as an update to an existing feature or capability to make it more advanced or to provide additional value or offer a richer user experience.

New Fields in Application Form

The student application serves to gather critical information needed to assess and admit students, allowing colleges to make informed decisions. The fields on the application form are curated to collect necessary details from applicants. This information is crucial for the admissions team to evaluate each candidate comprehensively and determine their fit within the institution.

In this release, we are introducing two new fields, “Sexual Orientation” and “Transgender,” which can be included in the student application form. These fields can be configured to be turned on or off on the application form based on the specific needs and preferences of each institute. By default, these fields will remain turned off, giving institutions the flexibility to activate them as needed. These fields come with customizable lists of values that can be defined as desired by the institute. This flexibility allows each institution to tailor these fields according to their specific needs, values, and goals.

Key Points –

  • The fields can be easily enabled or disabled, ensuring that the information collected aligns with the institute’s requirements and policies.
  • Collecting information on “Sexual Orientation” and “Transgender” status in college application forms can provide several benefits to institutions, primarily aimed at fostering inclusivity, improving support services, and enhancing campus.
  • The fields “Sexual Orientation” and “Transgender” can be exported from the system, allowing institutes to utilize this data for various analytical and operational purposes.
  • The fields “Sexual Orientation” and “Transgender” can also be utilized as attributes within a rules engine for population segmentation. This capability allows institutions to create targeted groups and personalized experiences for communications and delivery.

Font Update

We’ve enhanced the Unifyed Admit platform by replacing the Proxima Sans Font with IBM Plex Sans throughout the application. This change offers a consistent and modern look across the platform, aligning with our commitment to a seamless user experience. From headers to body text, IBM Plex Sans ensures clear and readable content throughout the Unifyed Admit platform. Also, by utilizing an open-sourced font family, we can avoid additional licensing costs that may have increased the cost of Unifyed Admit during renewal periods. The difference between the two fonts is minimal (and may likely have gone unnoticed), however we are acknowledging the update there and providing our reasoning for any discerning users that may have noticed the subtle difference.

Resolved Defects-

  • Administrative users are now able to download payment receipt of an applicant from administrative view.
  • Application Fee type checklist items are no longer removed after they have been completed from administrative or self-service view.

Accessibility Compliance

Along with the platform, this release is compliant to WCAG 2.1 AA.
