About This Release

This release extends the v26.01 baseline across three areas — Engagement, Integrated Apps & Widgets, and Platform. The headline additions are the Events module, the Emergency Contact widget, the Brightspace and Canvas course apps, the PowerCampus integrated apps, a Registration Status enhancement, the redesigned User Profile, and configurable session-timeout handling. Each is detailed in the sections that follow.

Engagement

New tools that help users discover, register for, and attend campus events and give administrators the data to plan and measure them.

Events

The Events module gives students a personalized way to discover, register for, and attend campus events, while giving administrators the visibility to plan and measure them. Events surface based on each user’s interests, community memberships, and past attendance, and check-in is supported through multiple methods.

For students

  • Discover and browse upcoming events relevant to academic, social, and extracurricular interests, with personalized recommendations based on interests, community memberships, and past attendance.
  • Register for events directly within the platform.
  • Check in through multiple methods, including QR code and manual attendance tracking.
  • View event details — title, date and time, description, and location with map.
  • Track upcoming, registered, attended, and past events in one centralized place, with full attendance history.
  • Receive reminders and notifications for registered events, plus real-time updates on schedule changes and cancellations.
  • Attend both in-person and virtual events, with direct access links where applicable.
  • Browse, register, and check in from mobile.

For administrators

  • Build the event catalog: create calendars or import events from ICS/RSS feeds, with audience targeting, interest tagging, and scheduled sync.
  • Create, edit, and cancel events, and manage imported calendars.
  • Track, manage, and review registrations, attendance, and engagement metrics.
  • Export registration and attendance reports for institutional reporting and analysis.
  • Promote events and drive community-driven discovery through clubs, organizations, and campus groups.

Integrated Apps & Widgets

A new CMS widget and expanded SIS/LMS coverage bring emergency information, Brightspace and Canvas courses, and PowerCampus academic data directly inside StudentX.

Emergency Contact Widget

The Emergency Contact widget lets administrators surface emergency and support contact information directly within CMS pages. Administrators choose which Emergency Contact sections appear and customize the widget title; the widget pulls from the Emergency Contact application configuration so information stays centralized and current. End users get a simple, read-only view and can place a call or send an email directly from the widget.

Desire2Learn (Brightspace) - My Courses App

The Brightspace My Courses app gives students a unified view of their LMS courses inside StudentX Engagement. By surfacing key academic activities and deadlines in one place, it helps students stay organized and engaged throughout the term.

Key features

  • View active Brightspace courses by term, with course details and instructor information.
  • Access announcements, assignments, grades, discussions, and learning content from a single interface.
  • Monitor upcoming deadlines and academic activities through integrated calendar events.
  • Launch directly into Brightspace courses and resources using secure SSO links.
  • Browse course modules, topics, files, quizzes, and assignments in a structured, easy-to-navigate format.
  • Stay current with real-time updates on submissions, grades, instructor feedback, and course communications.

Canvas - My Courses App

The Canvas My Courses app gives students a unified view of their Canvas LMS courses inside StudentX Engagement. It brings course details, announcements, assignments, grades, discussions, and important dates into one place so students can stay on top of their coursework without leaving the portal.

Key features

  • View active Canvas courses by term, with course name, code, section, instructor, and meeting times.
  • Access course announcements, assignments, grades, discussions, and resources from a single interface.
  • Track assignments ordered by due date, with submission status and due-date highlighting.
  • Review grades, points, and instructor feedback for assignments, quizzes, and other graded items.
  • Launch directly into Canvas courses and resources using secure SSO links.
  • See important course dates pulled from the course calendar.

Canvas courses are also available as a page widget, surfacing the student’s current courses on a CMS page with a link through to the full app.

PowerCampus Integrated Apps

When PowerCampus integration is enabled, the following SIS-sourced apps become available inside StudentX.

Student Profile – PowerCampus Information

The Student Profile displays key academic and personal information directly within StudentX such as program and degree, major, advisor details, enrollment status, and contact information, giving students quick access without leaving the platform.

Holds Applet

The Holds applet gives students visibility into active SIS holds that may affect actions such as course registration or graduation. When a hold exists, the applet shows the relevant details including the reason, originating department, and any amount owed so students can understand the restriction and take the steps needed to resolve it.

Course Schedule Applet

The Course Schedule applet gives students a dynamic view of their class schedule within StudentX. Students can see today’s classes, move forward or backward through upcoming days, or select a future date to review scheduled courses — helping them stay organized and manage their academic commitments.

Registration Status

The Registration Status app now flags students who are not eligible to register. When a student is not an active student, their registration status appears with a red “not eligible” indicator, and administrators can configure the message shown to explain the reason and direct the student to the Admissions or Registrar’s office for next steps.

Platform

A redesigned profile experience and configurable session management strengthen the operating layer the rest of the platform runs on.

User Profile (Redesigned)

This release redesigns the existing User Profile experience. It reduces manual data entry through SIS and authentication-based auto-population, streamlines profile management with inline editing, and adds personalization options. The result is a more personalized and informative student journey across web and mobile.

Key changes

  • SIS- and authentication-based auto-population reduces manual data entry.
  • Inline editing streamlines profile management.
  • Personalization with preferred names, pronouns, profile photos, and verified contact information.
  • Access to academic progress, advisor details, enrollment information, engagement metrics, and community participation insights.
  • Improved, consistent web and mobile experience.

Session Expiry Warning & Configurable Timeout

Institutions can now configure session-timeout duration at the tenant level to match their security and user-experience requirements. Before a session expires, users receive a warning with the option to extend the session or log out. This reduces unintended timeouts and disruption during active use, and gives institutions more control over authentication policy.

Key features

  • Tenant-level configurable session-timeout duration.
  • Pre-expiration warning notification displayed to users.
  • Extend Session option to continue working without reauthentication.
  • End Session option to log out immediately.
  • Automatic logout on timeout if no action is taken.
  • Supports institution-specific security and compliance requirements.
